April 2025 – Rhythm Time, the UK’s leading provider of music classes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, is delighted to mark its 30th BIRTHDAY - a major milestone in its mission to support early childhood development through the power of music.
Since 1995, Rhythm Time has been enriching the lives of hundreds of thousands of children across the UK. Founded by former music teacher Kathy Doolan, the programme was born from her passion for music and her experience as a mum, recognising first-hand how music could positively influence her daughter’s development.
From humble beginnings, Rhythm Time has grown into a nationally recognised brand, with a strong network of over 40 franchise business owners delivering award-winning music classes across the country every week.
In 2018, Kathy and her husband Brendan retired, handing over the reins to a new leadership team. Today, Dave Pearce and Lesley Jarrad head up the day-to-day running of the business, supported by their highly experienced Head Office team. Together, they continue to drive growth while staying true to Rhythm Time’s core mission: to make music accessible, inclusive, and enriching for all children.
Kathy Doolan, founder of Rhythm Time, shared:
"Congratulations to the whole Rhythm Time family on reaching this incredible 30-year milestone. It’s a wonderful moment to celebrate the past, embrace the present, and look forward to an exciting future—one where you’ll continue to make a meaningful difference to young children’s lives. Brendan and I raise a glass to you all—here’s to many more happy and harmonious years ahead!"
Over the past three decades, Rhythm Time has proudly received numerous awards, both for the quality of its franchise offering and the excellence of its classes. These achievements reflect the dedication of its teams and the positive outcomes seen in children every day.
Importantly, Rhythm Time is committed to being inclusive and accessible to every child. All music-based activities are designed to be developmentally appropriate for all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The organisation also runs specialist classes for children with SEND, sessions in hospitals for young inpatients, and even classes in retirement homes, recognising the intergenerational benefits of music in bringing people together.
A Year of Celebration!
To mark this exciting milestone, Rhythm Time will host special 30th birthday parties later this year, bringing families together for music, fun, and celebration. The brand’s annual conference will also be a highlight, featuring a pop-up photo booth with themed props, perfect for sharing the joy across social media using the hashtag #RhythmTime30.
A series of national competitions and engaging online campaigns will run throughout the year, celebrating the impact of Rhythm Time and inviting families to share their own memories and musical milestones.
As Rhythm Time enters its fourth decade, the team remains dedicated to supporting early childhood development, nurturing confidence, communication and creativity, and helping every child experience the joy of music. It also has exciting plans for the future, with continued growth and expansion into brand-new areas across the UK.
